Limitations As with other research, our study is not without limitations. Our study was con- ducted at only one midscale hotel property in the Southern U.S. that had implemented ECPs in response to the COVID-19 pan- demic. Although our study was exploratory in nature and used robust data collection methods and analyses, future research could benefit from using the methods pre-
rooms found that the average ATP readings for designated surfaces did not differ among hotel classes and that these findings could be attributed to similar cleaning patterns throughout hotel classes. Considering these findings, adopting and tailoring the high- touch surface list in our study could be ben- eficial for the lodging industry to better pre- pare for future inspections and future public health events.
