Crumbine Consumer Protection Award is a presti- gious award given annually to local environmental health juris- dictions that demonstrate unsurpassed achievement in providing outstanding food protection services to their communities. The award recognizes innovative programs and methods that reduce or eliminate the occurrence of foodborne illnesses and highlights the importance of food protection at the local level. Winning programs often oŒer best practices that can be used by other jurisdictions to advance their food protection programs. The award is named in honor of Dr. Samuel J. Crumbine (1862– 1954), a sanitarian physician and public health pioneer who was renowned for his innovative methods of improving public health protection. The Crumbine Award was established in his honor in 1954 and was first awarded in 1955. Does your local food safety program deserve national recognition? Preconference Oerings at the 2024 AEC Our 2024 Annual Educational Conference (AEC) & Exhibition— to be held on July 15–18 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania—will include a full preconference schedule that allows attendees to take a cre- dential review course or attend a workshop or training on a variety of environmental health topics. More details, updates, and registra- tion information can be found at www.neha.org/aec-preconference. Please note that registration is required for all preconference ses- sions, regardless of cost. All preconference oŒerings will take place in person and are eligible for continuing education (CE) contact hours unless otherwise noted. Certified Professional–Food Safety (CP-FS) Credential Review Course (July 13–15) This 2.5-day review course will be just what you need to complete your preparation for the challenging CP-FS credential exam. Ideal for professionals with prior food safety knowledge and who meet the eligibility requirements for the exam, the course will cover exam content areas. The instructor will be available during and after the course for questions. The review course is not eligible for CE contact hours. An additional application and fee are required to take any credential exam. Fee: $549 for NEHA members and $649 for nonmembers. We also are oering an AEC registration bundle price of $1,229 for NEHA members and $1,504 for nonmembers. Reg- istration includes the CP-FS Study Package (manual and flash cards). Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian Credential Review Course (July 13–15) This 2.5-day review course will enhance your preparation for the challenging REHS/RS credential exam. Ideal for professionals with a solid foundation in environmental health and who meet the eli- gibility requirements for the exam, the course will cover exam con- tent areas and basic environmental health principles. We encour- age participants to use multiple materials to prepare for the exam. The review course is not eligible for CE contact hours. An addi- tional application and fee are required to take any credential exam.
