NEHA Green Book

Significant to the history of NEHA and NSF is that NEHA members, recognized leaders in environmental health, have been and are a part of NSF's Council of Public Health Consultants. NSF's equipment and product standards are developed to be compatible with federal ordinances and codes. To insure that all interests are considered in standards develop ment, committees are involved from the initial discussion to final adoption. They are a Joint Committee, an Industry Committee and a Task Committee. NEHA members regularly serve on the Joint and Task Committees. In addition to NEHA members serving on the NSF committees, NSF participates in organization activities such as the annual educational conference and advertising in the Journal ofEnvironmental Health. The Walter F. Snyder Award, co-sponsored by NEHA and NSF, was established in 1971 to memorialize Walter F. Snyder by recogniz ing annually an individual who upholds his ideals. The award is presented at the annual banquet at each NEHA Annual Conference. (See Awards Chapter).
