that hazardous waste containers be labeled with essential information such as the transporter’s name, address, and emergency contact number under 49 CFR § 172.604 (1976). This ensures that any personnel handling or transporting biohazardous waste can identify the transporter and act quickly in case of an emergency 2. The EPA, under RCRA, requires tracking documents of hazardous waste, sometimes referred to as a manifest, to be maintained under 40 CFR § 262 (1980b). This tracking ensures that hazardous waste is documented from when it leaves the FACILITY to its final treatment or disposal. The transporter must provide this tracking document to the waste generator (in this case, the BODY ART FACILITY) to verify that the waste has been transferred and is being managed according to federal guidelines. 3. The EPA encourages waste generators to use identification methods, such as bar codes or unique container numbers, to better manage and track individual hazardous waste containers. This specificity helps ensure that each waste container is properly identified and tracked to prevent mix-ups or misidentification during collection and disposal.
