It offers scientific justification and rationale to support the requirements outlined in the Code, but it is not intended to be interpreted or enforced as additional Code requirements. The purpose of this Annex is to help users better understand the content and intent of the Code and to support its effective implementation. It is designed to assist health departments, body art regulators,
body artists, and other stakeholders in promoting the health and safety of body art establishments and procedures. This Annex does not intend to provide any medical advice or diagnoses. Unless separately licensed, body artists are not medical professionals and should not give, or be perceived as giving, medical advice or diagnoses.
